Sunday Funday

Errands with Frankie

Our Little Man

Weekends at the beach turn into anything but boring when Ross and Frankie are involved! We started with a walk to the beach to let Frankie stretch his little Shih Tzu legs a bit - dogs are only allowed on the beach until May 1 here in Sea Isle so we have to cram in every minute while we can for our favorite little man. Then we needed to hit Lowe's for paint and two new (cheap - nothing lasts at the beach) chaise lounge chairs for the roof deck. The ones we had up there disintegrated (thank you, sea air) so it's time for some new ones. Frankie LOVES errands and we take him to as many places as we can since he HATES staying home alone. He's a people dog, 100%. We got to Lowe's and the 19 chaise lounge chairs that the website said were in aisle 24 bin 13 were nowhere to be found. When we found a helpful employee in a red apron she told us that even though the interweb says they have 19 on hand, they have no actual idea where they might be so sorry, maybe we should order them online for delivery. Hmph. We bought the paint we needed for the front door and had keys made for the new lock Ross had installed the day before and headed across the parking lot to Walmart to see if they had cheap chaise lounges. And yup, they do! They're locked up in the front so we needed to find an employee to unlock them for us so we shopped inside while we were waiting. Is there ever a time that you leave Walmart empty handed? Ross found bait for striper fishing, I found the Premier protein shakes that I like, and Frankie picked out a new toy he wanted and carried it all around the store all by himself, much to the joy of every shopper he passed. One guy even pointed at Frankie and said to his wife, “see, a cat won’t do that.” 😆

After we finally got what we needed at Walmart and got the chairs secured in the back of the truck, we headed back towards the house. But by now we were parched. It had been a long day of chores, after all. So we stopped by our favorite dog friendly South Jersey craft brewery, https://www.slacktidebrewingco.com/ to relax with a beer before heading home. Frankie made a friend, as always, and was a good boy, as always.

We got back home and unloaded the chairs but it was way too windy to get them up to the roof so we left them downstairs and traipsed up ourselves and settled in to watch the Phillies beat the Cubs in extra innings. Well Ross watched, and I listened with 1 ear while I read my book, as usual. All in all, a great Sunday at the beach!

Stay tuned for more Frankie adventures! My April book reading summary will be out soon, too.

Love,

Karen
